
Nagpur, July 5, 2025 – In a major boost to the innovation ecosystem of Vidarbha, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, inaugurated the state-of-the-art ICTRD (Indian Council for Technical Research and Development) Secretariat Building and Incubation Centre at Adarsh Nagar Ground, Nagpur. This landmark event reflects a strong step toward nurturing grassroots innovation, empowering youth, and driving self-sustainable regional growth.

Empowering a Self-Sustaining Vidarbha
During his address, Shri Nitin Gadkari stressed the importance of transforming India’s youth into innovators and entrepreneurs rather than job seekers. Commending ICTRD’s proactive initiatives—such as electric tractors, drone-based farming solutions, and promotion of organic produce—he spoke of Vidarbha’s potential to become a role model for sustainable progress. He also unveiled upcoming plans including a Global University for Logistics and Skill Development at Butibori and initiatives to uplift the region’s orange-based economy.

At the heart of ICTRD’s mission is Dr. Ketan Mohitkar, Director of India Active Software and Member Secretary of ICTRD.
