Nagpur: The Diwali Milan meet, organized by Manthan for Academia, saw an insightful discussion on the ongoing transformation in the education sector, especially in light of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. Madhya Pradesh Cabinet Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya addressed the gathering, emphasizing the crucial role of teachers in driving change and innovation in the education system. He expressed strong support for NEP 2020, describing it as a framework that aligns with the aspirations of today’s youth and empowers them to succeed in their chosen careers.
Vijayvargiya also criticized certain political parties and intellectual groups, alleging that they were conspiring to dismantle the NEP 2020 framework. He assured the gathering that the central government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, would not let these anti-national forces succeed in their objectives.
In his speech, Vijayvargiya reflected on the difference between past and present opposition leaders. Recalling the example of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, he highlighted how Vajpayee had always respected national honor even when in opposition. In contrast, he pointed out that today’s opposition leaders often denigrate the country on international platforms. Vijayvargiya reiterated that teachers play a key role in nation-building and that NEP 2020 acknowledges this.

Vishnu Changde, a senate member of RTMNU, Nagpur, and convener of the event, opened the session by outlining the contributions of Manthan for Academia. He also introduced a booklet that summarized key insights on NEP, which had been discussed in the national-level symposium held at Sureshbhat Auditorium Hall in Nagpur.
